Having 'recced' the Bob Graham Round during my UK Big 3 Challenge and having completed it in 26hrs 06 minutes over 3 days, my ultimate ambition for 2012 would to complete the Bob Graham Round in one 'continuous' run. (i.e. without bed and dinner!) I may not manage it under 24hrs but I do hope to get under 28 hours - as a first attempt! This time i'm not planning on going solo and will take any support on offer....
The Bob Graham Round is a 66 mile route with 42 mountain summits and 27,000ft ascent. It was first completed in 1932 by Bob Graham, of Keswick. The record holder is still Billy Bland's round of 1982, in which he finished the whole lot in just 13 hours and 53 minutes! The first round by a woman was Jean Dawes in 1977. Since then, it has been completed several times, with the current record holder being Ann Stentiford in 1991 with 18 hours 49 minutes.
